Synopsis
Long Bright River (2025) is a crime drama you can watch online on iFILM, with Amanda Seyfried leading the cast. It unfolds in a Philadelphia neighborhood gutted by the opioid epidemic, the same blocks that police officer Mickey patrols shift after shift.
Mickey has a sister, Casey. Homeless, addicted, long since cut off from the family. The two have not spoken in years. Then bodies of sex workers start turning up in the alleys, and Mickey realizes the next victim could be Casey. The case drags her back into a shared past and into questions she would rather leave buried. Nicholas Pinnock plays her partner, Ashleigh Cummings the sister she keeps losing.
Adapted from Liz Moore's novel, the eight-episode series lets the mystery grow straight out of family trauma. This is not a procedural racing toward a killer reveal; what matters more is what the epidemic does to people and the ones who love them.
