Synopsis
Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids (2016) is a concert documentary you can watch online on iFILM — directed by Jonathan Demme and filmed over two nights in January 2015 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, closing out Timberlake's 20/20 Experience World Tour.
Demme doesn't just point the camera at the headliner. He follows the whole organism — the Tennessee Kids band, the dancers, the crew who build the show from scratch every night. The result feels closer to a working portrait than a promotional release: the craft, the coordination and the physical effort behind something that looks effortless from the floor.
One of Demme's final projects before his death in 2017 — the director who filmed Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense in 1984 and took home a Best Director Oscar for The Silence of the Lambs. He had a gift for finding the specific inside the spectacular. Stream Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids (2016) online on iFILM.
