Resident Evil: Degeneration

Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) is a Japanese animated action-horror film you can watch online on iFILM. It's the first full CG feature spun from Capcom's hit game series, and it slots straight into the games' canon, sitting between the events of Resident Evil 2 and 4.

Seven years after the Raccoon City disaster, the nightmare returns at the airport of a town called Harvardville, where a crowd of the infected turns arrivals into chaos. Two faces familiar to players step in: Claire Redfield, now with a relief organization, and government agent Leon S. Kennedy. Once again they're up against the fallout of the Umbrella Corporation, while a man driven by personal revenge unleashes the deadly G-Virus and a new mutated monster goes on a rampage.

Director Makoto Kamiya made this one for the fans — the people who already know Leon and Claire and came to see them in motion. It leans on gunfights and creature chases more than story, but the CG looked expensive for 2008 and set the visual template for the animated films that followed.
