Finn is the last human alive in the Land of Ooo, a post-apocalyptic world where ancient nuclear fallout mutated into something that just looks like magic. His best friend Jake is a dog who can stretch into any shape imaginable. Together they run headlong into every problem they find: rescuing princesses from the obsessive Ice King (Tom Kenny), navigating uneasy truces with Marceline the Vampire Queen (Olivia Olson), and slowly piecing together what actually happened to civilization before the Mushroom War. Each episode stands alone as a quick comedic adventure. Underneath, a mythology builds across all ten seasons toward something genuinely strange and sad.

Produced by Cartoon Network Studios and Frederator Studios, the show became one of the defining animated properties of the 2010s — kids watched it for the chaos, adults stayed for the lore.
