Dee Dee spent years convincing doctors, neighbors, and Gypsy herself that her daughter suffered from a cascade of serious illnesses — wheelchairs, feeding tubes, pills that had no reason to exist. Gypsy grew up not knowing her real age, her actual medical history, or what her body was capable of. When she found Nick Godejohn (Calum Worthy) online, she found the first person who believed her version of the story. What they planned together is what the show spends eight episodes building toward.
