
Synopsis
The King's Speech (2010) is Tom Hooper's historical drama you can watch online on iFILM. London, between the wars. Prince Albert, the monarch's second son, has stammered since childhood and dreads a microphone more than anything.
When his older brother gives up the crown for a divorced American, the throne lands on Albert, now George VI. And a wartime nation, drifting toward Hitler, expects its king to speak on the radio. His wife Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter) tracks down an unconventional speech therapist, an Australian named Lionel Logue with no diploma and his own stubborn methods. Their sessions start as a clash of egos and grow into a real friendship. Colin Firth plays the king, Geoffrey Rush the gadfly tutor.
