Synopsis
The Goldbergs (2013) is an ABC family comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Creator Adam F. Goldberg based the show on his actual childhood growing up in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, during the 1980s — camera in hand, chaos all around.
Eleven-year-old Adam documents everything on VHS. His mother Beverly, played by Wendi McLendon-Covey, is the kind of mom who calls the school nurse when her kid sneezes. Brother Barry insists he's destined for athletic greatness. Sister Erica just wants out. Dad Murray barely moves off the couch. Adult Adam narrates the whole thing in voiceover — Patton Oswalt — with the detached warmth of someone who survived it and can now laugh.
Sony Pictures Television and Happy Madison Productions ran the series for ten seasons and 229 episodes, from 2013 to 2023. Every episode packs in '80s pop-culture references — Star Wars, heavy metal, neon windbreakers — while the family chaos stays instantly recognizable.
