Synopsis
Parks and Recreation (2009–2015) is the NBC mockumentary comedy you can watch online on iFILM — all 7 seasons and 122 episodes. Co-created by Michael Schur and Greg Daniels, produced by Universal Television, each episode runs about 22 minutes and is shot in the fake-documentary style the pair perfected on The Office.
Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler, works in the Parks and Recreation department of Pawnee, Indiana — a fictional small city with an enormous opinion of itself. Her plan: convert a muddy abandoned pit into a community park. Her obstacles: a skeptical city council, a lawsuit-happy neighbor, and an office full of people who'd rather be somewhere else. The ensemble is what makes it: Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), Leslie's anti-government libertarian boss who somehow keeps doing his job; April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza), the intern allergic to enthusiasm; Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) in the breakout role that preceded Guardians of the Galaxy; and Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott), the straight-man state auditor who eventually falls for Leslie.
The show started slowly — season one was rough — but from season two it found a warmer, more optimistic tone that set it apart from most workplace comedies. By its final season it was doing time jumps and city-council elections. Stream all seasons of Parks and Recreation online on iFILM.
