Synopsis
The Awakening (2011) is a British supernatural thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Nick Murphy. Rebecca Hall plays Florence Cathcart — a writer and ghost-debunker who has built her career proving the dead don't linger. The story is set in 1920, as England is still raw from the losses of the Great War.
Florence is called to a boys' boarding school in the countryside, where staff and students are terrified by what they believe is a haunting. She expects to expose a hoax. Dominic West and Imelda Staunton co-star as school employees who have their own reasons for wanting answers. Instead, each layer she peels back leads somewhere she didn't plan to go — and the trail starts pointing at her own past.
