Synopsis

Bernard Garrett and Joe Morris start buying property and then entire banks at a time when a Black man could barely get a loan for a porch step. It holds together until Washington starts asking questions.
The film traces the actual rise of two financiers who gamed segregation years before the law caught up to them. Mackie carries the drive, Jackson supplies the wit, and the quieter-than-usual register keeps it from sliding into the lecture mode that sinks so many business biopics.
