Synopsis
Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World (1998) is a Disney animated sequel you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Tom Ellery and Bradley Raymond, it picks up after word of John Smith's death reaches the New World, leaving Pocahontas to begin a very different chapter: a diplomatic voyage to London alongside envoy John Rolfe (voiced by Billy Zane) and her raccoon companion Meeko.
The mission is to meet the King of England and forge peace between the two lands. But Governor Ratcliffe, still hungry for revenge after being expelled from Jamestown, is working the royal court against her. Jim Cummings and David Ogden Stiers return in their original roles, and the film swaps the Virginia forests for cobblestone streets and formal ceremonies.
As a direct-to-video follow-up, it is more modest than the 1995 theatrical original, but it takes Pocahontas somewhere the first film never went — into the politics of diplomacy rather than the drama of romance.
