Synopsis

The French Dispatch (2021) is Wes Anderson's comedy-drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. The staff of an American magazine in the made-up French town of Ennui-sur-Blasé assembles one final issue.

The film unfolds like the pages of that magazine: three feature stories plus an obituary for the editor, played by Bill Murray. A convict painter and the prison guard who becomes his muse. A student uprising, with Timothée Chalamet scribbling a manifesto in chalk. And a kidnapping untangled by a police-station cook. The ensemble runs deep — Benicio del Toro, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright, Owen Wilson.

Anderson built the whole thing as a love letter to The New Yorker, modeling his reporters on the magazine's real writers. Mirror-perfect framing, jumps between color and black-and-white, dollhouse staging: his signature pushed to the limit. Stream The French Dispatch (2021) online on iFILM.
