Bianca Kajlich, Katee Sackhoff, and Thomas Ian Nicholas play the thrill-seekers working their way through the darkened house room by room. The split between the in-show webcam footage and the regular camera creates a layered sense of dread — you see what the audience sees and what they miss. Tyra Banks appears as the show's producer, and the film keeps its tone unambiguously grim throughout.

The eighth installment in the Halloween franchise does not try to rewrite anything. It is a straight slasher with a then-current internet-culture hook, and it delivers on Michael Myers being exactly as unstoppable as he always was.
