The city burns through people fast, and the bodies pile up in ways that ordinary detective work can't untangle. The forensic unit at the Las Vegas PD treats every crime scene as a puzzle — fibers, fingerprints, ballistics, trace evidence, the story the room tells when nobody's talking. George Eads (Nick Stokes) and Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) anchored much of the show's run; Ted Danson brought a sharper edge to the later seasons as D.B. Russell. The format — evidence over interrogations — was radical enough in 2000 to spawn three direct spinoffs: CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, and the 2021 revival CSI: Vegas.
