Synopsis
Catch Me If You Can (2002) — watch online on iFILM. Steven Spielberg's crime drama, produced by DreamWorks, is based on the memoir of Frank Abagnale Jr., with Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank, Tom Hanks as dogged FBI agent Carl Hanratty, and Christopher Walken as the charming, broken father whose collapse set everything in motion.
Before he turned twenty, Frank had already passed himself off as a Pan Am pilot, cashing fraudulent checks at airport counters across America. Then a hospital doctor. Then a state prosecutor. Each identity held for months, sometimes longer — just long enough to vanish before anyone ran a background check. Hanratty chased him across multiple countries, and their phone calls on holidays started feeling less like cat-and-mouse and more like the only honest relationship either man had.
Screenwriter Jeff Nathanson adapted Abagnale's own account; Spielberg shot the whole picture in eight weeks. John Williams wrote a light, jazz-inflected score that keeps the film playful on the surface while the story underneath keeps asking why a person never stops performing someone else's life.
