Synopsis

Brenda Blethyn plays the frantic Mrs. Bennet as if the entire family fortune depends on every sentence — because it does. Donald Sutherland brings a quiet, tired warmth to the father, and Judi Dench turns a single scene as Lady Catherine de Bourgh into something genuinely icy. Rosamund Pike, Carey Mulligan and Jena Malone fill out the Bennet sisters, each with a distinct personality the screenplay doesn't squash.
The film earned four Academy Award nominations including Best Actress for Knightley, picked up a BAFTA, and became a benchmark for literary romance on screen.
