Synopsis

On Christmas Eve, a crew of mercenaries seizes the Lightstone family estate and takes everyone hostage, after the money locked in the vault. What they don't count on is the man trapped on the roof. Young Trudy called the real Santa on a toy walkie-talkie, and he happens to be in the house. This Santa is tired, half-drunk, and close to giving up on people — but he's got centuries behind him and a Viking warrior's past. He works through the mansion to reach the girl, taking the attackers apart with whatever's at hand: a hammer, a string of lights, an ice skate, a tree-topper star.
Director Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) crosses Die Hard with a holiday fairy tale and spares none of the blood. John Leguizamo plays the ringleader, Beverly D'Angelo the iron-fisted matriarch. It's gory, funny, and warmer than you'd guess. Stream Violent Night (2022) online on iFILM.
