Seed of Chucky

Seed of Chucky (2004) is a horror-comedy you can watch online on iFILM — the fifth entry in the Child's Play franchise, written and directed by series creator Don Mancini. Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly return as the voices of Chucky and Tiffany, while Billy Boyd (Pippin in The Lord of the Rings) plays their gender-questioning offspring, Glen.

Glen has spent years as a sideshow act in England with no idea who his parents are. He tracks down the Chucky and Tiffany dolls from the last film, resurrects them on a Hollywood movie set, and suddenly there's a family reunion — with a body count attached. Jennifer Tilly plays herself as both target and accomplice, which Mancini uses to skewer celebrity culture and the horror genre in equal measure. The film runs 86 minutes and does not take itself seriously for a single one of them.

Mancini, who wrote the original 1988 screenplay, turns the franchise's mythology into self-aware dark comedy. The kills are outrageous, the domestic arguments between killer dolls are oddly sincere, and the whole thing lands somewhere between slasher and absurdist family drama.
