The Punisher

The Punisher (2004) is a Marvel action film directed by Jonathan Hensleigh — watch online on iFILM. Thomas Jane plays Frank Castle, an FBI undercover agent who watches his entire family get killed during what was supposed to be his last field operation. The man behind it: wealthy crime boss Howard Saint, played by John Travolta.

Frank survives. He moves into a rundown Tampa apartment block, puts on the skull, and goes to work dismantling Saint's operation — not with a badge, but with patience, traps, and a great deal of force. His unlikely neighbours include the withdrawn Joan (Rebecca Romijn) and the gentle giant Bumpo (John Pinette), two civilians he tries, not always successfully, to keep out of the crossfire.

Produced by Lions Gate and Marvel Enterprises, this was the character's first theatrical outing since the 1989 B-movie version. Hensleigh, who also wrote the script, strips away the superhero glossiness and leans into the revenge thriller. Stream The Punisher (2004) on iFILM.
