Django Unchained

Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) teaches Django to shoot and to read wanted posters, and the apprentice soon becomes a partner. For Jamie Foxx's Django the job has one purpose: get back his wife Broomhilda, sold off to a plantation called Candyland. Its owner, Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), stays charming only as long as he smells a profit, while his loyal house servant Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson) sees through a con before anyone says a word. When the guests sit down to dinner, the polite table talk turns into a powder keg.

The film won Tarantino an Oscar for original screenplay and handed Christoph Waltz a supporting-actor statuette. Franco Nero, the original 1966 Django, shows up for a brief exchange at the bar.
