When Holt goes silent, his girlfriend Julia drives out to find him and watches the tape herself to take the curse in his place. Inside her copy hides something no one has ever seen — new frames pointing toward the truth of Samara's past. Matilda Lutz plays Julia, Alex Roe is Holt, Johnny Galecki the obsessed professor, and Vincent D'Onofrio a blind caretaker with a buried secret.
