Krampus is the horned Alpine demon of folklore, and he does not arrive alone. Max's household — skeptical dad Tom (Adam Scott), exasperated mom Sarah (Toni Collette), warring relatives, screaming cousins — spends the night under siege as holiday decorations turn lethal, living gingerbread men stalk the hallways, and the neighborhood vanishes under an unnatural blizzard. Dougherty plays it as a creature feature with a genuine moral: this family earned this visit.
