Brave

Brave (2012) is a Pixar animated fantasy-adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Brenda Chapman and Mark Andrews, it introduced Pixar's first princess — not waiting to be rescued, but fighting to rewrite her own fate. Scottish actress Kelly Macdonald voices Merida, and the Highland accent is the real thing.

Merida is a skilled archer who gallops through the hills at dawn while her mother, Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson), prepares her for a tournament of suitors from rival clans. Refusing to be handed off to any of them, Merida finds a witch in the forest and asks for a spell to change her fate. The magic works — just not the way she imagined. Now she has until the second sunrise to undo it before the curse locks in permanently.

The film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2013 alongside a Golden Globe in the same category. Composer Patrick Doyle scored the film, and Scottish Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis recorded original ballads for the soundtrack. Stream Brave (2012) in full on iFILM.
