She's the Man

Seventeen-year-old Viola plays soccer better than most of the boys. When her school cuts the girls' team, she pulls a reckless stunt: she disguises herself as her twin brother Sebastian and takes his spot at a new boarding school. From there it spirals. Viola falls for her roommate Duke, Duke pines for the beautiful Olivia, and Olivia crushes hard on "Sebastian," never guessing he's a girl. Then the real Sebastian comes home from London early, with no clue his sister has been living his life.

The plot loosely reworks Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, dropping its mistaken-identity tangle into dorm rooms and a do-or-die match. Bynes carries the whole farce and clearly has a blast doing it. Stream She's the Man (2006) online on iFILM.
