Synopsis

Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) rules from a sickbed: gout, a wild temper, and seventeen rabbits standing in for the children she lost. Her childhood friend Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) runs the country in her place — sharp, clever, used to getting her way. Then Sarah's broke cousin Abigail (Emma Stone) arrives. She claws her way up from the scullery to the royal chambers, and soon the two women wage a quiet war to be the queen's favourite, trading in flattery, blackmail, poison and the bedroom.
