About

Synopsis

WALL·E (2008) is a Pixar animated film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Andrew Stanton. A small waste-collecting robot has been alone on an abandoned Earth for seven centuries, long after humanity packed up and left for a cruise ship in space. The first forty minutes of the film contain almost no dialogue — an unusually bold choice for a studio that made its name on verbal wit.

WALL·E stacks trash into towers, hoards trinkets, and replays one old movie clip every evening. Then EVE arrives — a sleek probe sent to scan the planet — and WALL·E follows her across the galaxy without any particular plan. Ben Burtt, the sound designer behind the original Star Wars trilogy, voices WALL·E through clicks and beeps; Elissa Knight voices EVE. Jeff Garlin plays the ship's Captain, slowly waking up to how far humanity has drifted from the world it left behind. Fred Willard appears as the Buy n Large CEO in live-action footage, the only human performance in the film.

WALL·E won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film and received three BAFTA nominations. Stanton built a science-fiction fable out of silence, rust, and a single plant growing in a boot. Stream WALL·E (2008) online on iFILM.
