Synopsis
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) is an adventure drama directed by Ben Stiller that you can watch online on iFILM. A quiet negative manager at Life magazine lives out his heroic moments only in vivid daydreams, freezing mid-conversation while his mind runs off somewhere far better.
When the print edition is shut down, legendary photographer Sean O'Connell (Sean Penn) sends a roll of film with the "quintessence" shot meant for the final cover, and the negative he needs is simply gone from the box. To save the issue and his job, Walter steps out of his fantasies and into the real thing for the first time: leaping onto a helicopter off Greenland, outrunning an eruption in Iceland, climbing toward the Himalayas. Stiller plays the lead and directs, with Kristen Wiig as the coworker who is part of why he goes at all.
The film grew out of James Thurber's brief 1939 short story, but Stiller stretched it into a wide-open journey about an ordinary man who stops imagining his life and finally starts living it.
