Synopsis
The Signal (2014) is an American sci-fi thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Director William Eubank wrote and shot the film on a tight budget, with Brenton Thwaites, Olivia Cooke, and Laurence Fishburne leading the cast.
Three college students are crossing the Nevada desert when they pick up a trace of the hacker who has been harassing them online. The signal points to an abandoned shack in the middle of nowhere. Then everything cuts out. Nic wakes up in a stark white room with no memory of how he got there, no idea where his friends are, and a man in a hazmat suit (Fishburne) asking questions he won't answer directly.
Eubank built a film that deliberately shifts its genre frame two or three times — road movie becomes medical nightmare becomes something stranger still.
