Synopsis
Dead Man's Wire (2026) is a crime thriller directed by Gus Van Sant — watch online on iFILM. Bill Skarsgård plays Tony Kiritsis, a man who walked into an Indianapolis mortgage office on the morning of February 8, 1977, and turned a grievance into a 63-hour standoff.
Kiritsis believed the Meridian Mortgage Company had swindled him out of money he was owed. His plan: attach a sawn-off shotgun to the neck of company president Richard Hall with a wire, march him into the street, and refuse to let go until he got $5 million and a public apology. Dacre Montgomery plays Hall, Al Pacino plays his father, and Colman Domingo takes the role of the detective trying to hold the situation together. The whole thing played out on live television — anchors cut to the parking lot, cameras rolling, no script.
Van Sant shot the film in 19 days, keeping the production lean and the tension close. The screenplay reconstructs the standoff from news archives and public records — including Kiritsis's on-air speech demanding the apology he'd been promised. Stream Dead Man's Wire (2026) online on iFILM.
