Synopsis
The King of Staten Island (2020) is Judd Apatow's comedy-drama, ready to watch online on iFILM. Scott is pushing 25 and going nowhere: still crashing at his mom's place, smoking weed, inking lopsided tattoos on his friends instead of chasing the dream of his own shop.
His firefighter dad died when he was a kid, and Scott never really grew past it. His sister leaves for college, his on-and-off girlfriend Kelsey wants more, and then his mother (Marisa Tomei) starts dating Ray, a loud firefighter played by Bill Burr. To Scott it lands like an insult — another man stepping into his father's spot. Yet Ray, blunt and stubborn, is exactly what nudges him awake.
Pete Davidson didn't just star here; he rewrote his own life into it — his firefighter father died on 9/11. Apatow lets the thing breathe across 136 minutes, and somewhere between the stoner jokes sits an honest film about grief that won't quit. With Steve Buscemi and Maude Apatow along the way. Stream The King of Staten Island (2020) online on iFILM.
