Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium (2007) is Zach Helm's family fantasy, available to watch online on iFILM. Edward Magorium (Dustin Hoffman), the giddy owner of a magical toy store, has just turned 243 and decides his time is finally up.

He hands the living, breathing shop — where balls bounce on their own and books murmur — to his manager Molly Mahoney (Natalie Portman). Molly once dreamed of writing music; now she is stuck and doubts she is anything special. The moment her faith wavers, the Emporium dims, the walls go gray, and the toys fall still. Help arrives from a solemn boy named Eric and a fussy accountant, Henry (Jason Bateman), whom everyone calls the Mutant.

Helm, the screenwriter behind Stranger than Fiction, makes his directing debut in a storybook key closer to Wes Anderson than to ordinary kids' fare: hand-built sets, warm colors, and a score by Alexandre Desplat and Aaron Zigman. The film is less about saving a shop than about being allowed to feel sad and then find joy again, which is why families come back to rewatch it.
