Lawless

Lawless (2012) is John Hillcoat's bloody crime western you can watch online on iFILM. Rural Virginia in the early 1930s, where three brothers brew moonshine for a country forced dry by Prohibition.

The Bondurants run a roadside diner that hides their real trade. Tight-lipped Forrest (Tom Hardy) is the brains, hulking Howard (Jason Clarke) the muscle, and reckless young Jack (Shia LaBeouf) wants in on the big money to win over a preacher's daughter. The local law has been paid off for years. Then a perfumed, sadistic deputy from Chicago, played by Guy Pearce, rolls into town and decides the brothers must be broken.

Nick Cave wrote the screenplay from a novel by Matt Bondurant, a descendant of the real bootleggers, with Gary Oldman, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska rounding out the cast.
