Synopsis
Friday the 13th: The Series (1987) is a Canadian supernatural thriller series you can watch online on iFILM. An antique dealer named Lewis made a pact with the devil. Every object he sold through his shop carried a dark contract: it would grant its owner power or luck, but only if someone died for it.
After Lewis's death, his niece Micki and nephew Ryan inherit the shop — and the ledger of cursed items already scattered across the country. They team up with Jack Marshak, an old occultist played by Chris Wiggins, and begin hunting the objects down one by one. Each episode delivers a new artefact: a mirror, a glove, a baseball mitt, a set of dolls. The format is part detective procedural, part horror anthology. Louise Robey as Micki anchors the show with a physicality that keeps the scares grounded.
Three seasons ran from 1987 to 1990, nearly seventy episodes in total. Directors David Cronenberg and Atom Egoyan both contributed episodes, which partly explains why the series occasionally pushed well past standard TV horror. No connection to Jason Voorhees — despite the title, this is its own mythology entirely. Stream Friday the 13th: The Series online on iFILM.
