Miracle

Miracle (2004) is a sports drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Gavin O'Connor and starring Kurt Russell as hockey coach Herb Brooks. The film retells how a roster of American college players took on the unbeatable Soviet squad.

Brooks gets handed a team nobody respects. His recruits come from rival colleges and can barely stand one another, yet the 1980 Winter Olympics are looming and so are the reigning Soviet champions. He drills the kids past their breaking point, tears down their egos and welds the scattered group into one unit. It all builds to February 22, 1980 in Lake Placid, where the underdogs skate out against a team that was supposed to crush them.

O'Connor stages the rink action with real bite, and Russell anchors the whole thing as a coach who refuses to settle. Patricia Clarkson and Noah Emmerich round out the cast. Decades on, Americans still call that night the Miracle on Ice. Watch Miracle (2004) online on iFILM.
