Boulevard Nights

Boulevard Nights (1979) is an American street drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Michael Pressman and shot on location in the Chicano neighborhoods of East Los Angeles. Richard Yniguez plays Raymond Avila, a young man who left gang life behind. His younger brother Chuco, played by Danny De La Paz, is still in it — restless, proud, and pulling Raymond back toward everything he tried to leave.

The film arrived at the end of the 1970s and offered one of the few Hollywood portraits of LA's low-rider barrio culture that wasn't filtered through exploitation. When a rival gang pushes Chuco into an escalating feud, the brothers' bond is tested in ways that feel entirely inevitable. Pressman doesn't preach. The neighborhood just is what it is.
