Synopsis
Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway (2021) is a Japanese animated sci-fi action film from SUNRISE that you can watch online on iFILM. Director Shukou Murase adapts Yoshiyuki Tomino's 1989 novel, picking up the Universal Century timeline a dozen years after the chaos surrounding Char's final gambit. Kensho Ono, Reina Ueda, and Junichi Suwabe lead the voice cast across 96 minutes.
Hathaway Noa carries a name that means something in the Federation — his father commanded the White Base. He uses that cover carefully. In secret, he runs Mafty, a cell striking at Federation corruption from the inside. A routine mission puts him shoulder-to-shoulder with Federation officer Kenneth Sleg and an unpredictable woman named Gigi Andalucia. Neither encounter is accidental. Neither can be easily resolved.
Released in Japanese cinemas in June 2021, the film earned over 18 million dollars — a strong result for a theatrical anime adapting classic UC lore.
