Synopsis
Any Day Now (2012) is a drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Travis Fine and based on real events from the late 1970s. Alan Cumming and Garret Dillahunt lead as a couple who take in a teenager nobody else will claim.
Marco has Down syndrome and has been left to fend for himself — his mother is an addict who keeps disappearing. Rudy and Paul find him and do what seems obvious: give him a home. But in 1970s America, that arrangement draws attention. Once authorities get involved, the legal system moves to separate them, wielding custody rules and courtroom procedures like weapons against a family that simply formed on its own terms.
Cumming gives one of his best performances here — raw, specific, and nothing like his usual register. The film doesn't sentimentalize the fight; it shows what it actually costs. Stream Any Day Now (2012) online on iFILM.
