Synopsis

My Week with Marilyn (2011) is a British-American drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Simon Curtis returns to the summer of 1956, when Marilyn Monroe flew to London to shoot alongside Laurence Olivier on what would become The Prince and the Showgirl. Colin Clark, a wide-eyed third assistant director half her age, kept a diary of everything he witnessed — and for one improbable week, became her closest companion on set.

Michelle Williams plays Monroe not as a monument but as a woman constantly on the edge: late to every call, dependent on her acting coach and a cabinet full of pills, yet capable of lighting up a room in seconds. Kenneth Branagh's Olivier grows more exasperated by the day, unable to reconcile the chaos with the talent. Eddie Redmayne carries the film's emotional core as Colin, while Judi Dench and Emma Watson add texture in smaller but well-drawn roles. The screenplay draws directly from Clark's published memoirs, written decades after Monroe's death.

Williams earned Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for her performance. The film works because it stays personal — one young man's impossible week, not a full-scale biography. Stream My Week with Marilyn (2011) online on iFILM.
