Zak wants to reach the backwoods wrestling school of his hero somewhere in rural North Carolina. Along the way he latches onto Tyler, a broke crab poacher running from trouble of his own. The two drift down rivers and inlets on a homemade raft while Eleanor, the care worker sent to bring Zak back, keeps closing in. Zak is played by Zack Gottsagen, who has Down syndrome himself; Dakota Johnson plays Eleanor.
