About

Synopsis

Upstream Color (2013) is Shane Carruth's science fiction drama you can watch online on iFILM. It is a strange, nearly wordless film about two strangers bound together by a parasite neither of them knows is there.

Kris (Amy Seimetz) loses her memory, her job and her savings after a thief implants a larva under her skin. Later she meets Jeff (played by Carruth himself), and both sense that someone has shuffled the pieces of their lives. The organism moves through people, pigs and orchids in a single cycle, dissolving the line between who they were and who they are, while they try to reassemble scattered memories.

Carruth directs, writes, stars, shoots and scores the film at once, building the story through editing and sound rather than dialogue. It premiered at Sundance and quickly found a devoted cult among fans of dense, puzzle-like cinema. Stream Upstream Color (2013) online on iFILM.
