Little Children

Little Children (2006) is a drama from director Todd Field you can watch online on iFILM. Behind the manicured lawns and tidy playgrounds of a New England suburb, the grown-ups act more like the toddlers they're raising.

Sarah, played by Kate Winslet, is suffocating in a loveless marriage and kills her afternoons at the park with the other mothers. There she meets Brad (Patrick Wilson), a charming stay-at-home dad who keeps failing the bar exam. Bored and lonely, the two drift into an affair. Meanwhile a convicted sex offender moves back in with his mother down the street, and the whole neighborhood curdles with fear and rage. The threads pull tighter until pretending stops working.

Adapted from Tom Perrotta's novel, which the author co-wrote for the screen with Field, the film earned Oscar nominations for Winslet and for Jackie Earle Haley as the haunted outcast next door. Jennifer Connelly plays Brad's overlooked wife. Stream Little Children (2006) online on iFILM.
