Here Comes the Boom

Here Comes the Boom (2012) is a sports comedy from director Frank Coraci that you can watch online on iFILM. Kevin James plays a burned-out high school biology teacher who steps into the MMA cage for prize money. It sounds ridiculous. That is the point.

Scott Voss used to care about his job. Now he barely makes it through the day. When budget cuts threaten to gut the school's music program and a fellow teacher (Henry Winkler) risks losing his job, Voss hatches a desperate plan: enter amateur mixed-martial-arts fights and pocket the purse. A retired fighter named Niko, played by real UFC legend Bas Rutten, trains him, while Salma Hayek stars as school nurse Bella. Every bout leaves the heavyset teacher more bruised and a little closer to the goal.
