Centuries ago the two sides signed a truce: the Light rules the day, the Dark claims the night. A force called the Night Watch keeps vampires and dark sorcerers from breaking the pact. Anton Gorodetsky, a low-ranking Watch agent, tracks a vampire and crosses paths with a young woman cursed by a swirling vortex of doom. That single encounter starts to tear the fragile balance apart.
