About

Synopsis

Where the Heart Is (2000) is a drama with a comic streak you can watch online on iFILM. Novalee Nation is seventeen, eight months pregnant, and stranded when her boyfriend dumps her in the parking lot of an Oklahoma Walmart. She has a few dollars and a private dread of the number five.

So she moves in. Quietly, after closing, she builds a life among the shelves — a cot, an alarm clock, snacks for dinner. When she gives birth right there under the store's fluorescent lights, the local papers run the story, and a band of misfit strangers pull her in: brash nurse Lexie, gruff Sister Husband, shy librarian Forney. Natalie Portman leads, with Ashley Judd, Stockard Channing, Joan Cusack and Sally Field around her.

Director Matt Williams adapted Billie Letts's bestseller, a book Oprah's Book Club once put on the map. It's a film about cobbling a family together from people you didn't choose, and finding home wherever someone makes room for you. Stream Where the Heart Is (2000) online on iFILM.
