About

Synopsis

Honey, I Blew Up the Kid (1992) is a family sci-fi comedy you can watch online on iFILM, with Rick Moranis back as bumbling inventor Wayne Szalinski. Randal Kleiser directs.

This is the sequel to Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. This time Wayne is building a machine that does the opposite of shrinking, and naturally it doesn't behave. When he brings his two-year-old son Adam into the lab, the boy wanders into the beam along with his stuffed bunny and starts to grow. At first he's just an oversized toddler, but every burst of excitement adds another few feet. Soon a giant baby is stomping through Las Vegas, mistaking neon signs for toys, while the grown-ups scramble to shrink him back before he flattens the Strip.

Disney bet on a simple flip of the original premise and it pays off. Moranis carries the comedy as a genius who can't control his own gadgets, and the climax along the glowing Vegas boulevard still plays like a showcase of pre-digital effects work. Stream Honey, I Blew Up the Kid (1992) online on iFILM.
