Synopsis

The Blue Lagoon (1980) is an American adventure romance you can watch online on iFILM. A shipwreck strands two small children and an aging ship's cook on a tropical island in the South Pacific. The cook soon dies, and the kids are left to raise themselves with no one to explain the world to them.

Years pass. Emmeline and Richard (Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins) grow up among palms, reefs and clear lagoons, with no books, no rules, no adults around. They fish, hide from a neighboring tribe, and slowly discover attraction and first love on their own, with nobody to warn or guide them. Then a baby arrives, and paradise suddenly turns into a fragile place for three.

Director Randal Kleiser adapted Henry De Vere Stacpoole's 1908 novel, and Oscar-winning cinematographer Nestor Almendros shot the Fijian beaches like a living postcard. The film became a box-office hit and a magnet for controversy. 104 minutes about two castaways building a whole world from nothing. Stream The Blue Lagoon (1980) online on iFILM.
