Christine

Christine (1983) is a horror film by John Carpenter that you can watch online on iFILM. Picked-on teenager Arnie Cunningham buys a rusted-out red 1958 Plymouth Fury — and the car slowly starts remaking its owner in its own image.

The more time Arnie spends under the hood, the less of the shy kid is left. Confidence curdles into arrogance, then into something meaner. Christine repairs herself, hunts down anyone who scratched her paint, and refuses to share Arnie with a living soul — not his girlfriend, not his best friend. Keith Gordon plays Arnie, John Stockwell is his buddy Dennis, and Alexandra Paul is Leigh, the first to sense the car is deeply wrong.

Adapted from Stephen King's novel, published only months before the movie opened, the film lets Carpenter mine dread from the ordinary: chrome gleaming under a streetlight, a door lock clicking shut with no one inside. Carpenter scored it himself, too. Stream Christine (1983) online on iFILM.
