Synopsis
Swiss Army Man (2016) is an absurdist fantasy comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM. Hank is stranded on a tiny island and about to give up for good. Then a corpse washes ashore.
The dead man turns out to be useful. Named Manny and played by Daniel Radcliffe, the body can chop wood, spit drinking water, fire projectiles, and even point the way home like a living compass. Hank, played by Paul Dano, drags his new friend through the wilderness and teaches him how to be alive again — explaining love, shame, and the girl from the bus he never had the nerve to talk to. The deeper they go, the harder it gets to tell rescue from the delusions of an exhausted mind.
This was the feature debut of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, who would later make Everything Everywhere All at Once. The result is awkward, strange, and weirdly tender, with a vocal score the characters basically sing themselves. Stream Swiss Army Man (2016) online on iFILM.
