Synopsis
Swamp Thing (1982) is a sci-fi horror film directed by Wes Craven — watch it online on iFILM. Dr. Alec Holland is working on a biochemical formula that could speed up plant growth and feed the world. A lab explosion changes everything, fusing him with the swamp's vegetation and turning him into something no longer quite human.
The sinister Dr. Anton Arcane, played by Louis Jourdan, wants that formula. The creature Holland has become must now protect government agent Alice Cable — played by Adrienne Barbeau — from Arcane's mercenaries. Ray Wise portrays Holland in his human form, giving the character a warmth that survives the transformation.
Based on the DC Comics character, the film arrived years before superhero movies became a genre of their own. Craven, shooting on a tight budget, brought a gothic mood that lifts it above standard creature fare. Stream Swamp Thing (1982) in good quality on iFILM.
