Whatever survived from the mutant clan in the first film has been waiting. Michael Berriman returns as Pluto. Kevin Spirtas and Janus Blythe lead the group trying to make it out — and Blythe's character carries a secret about this stretch of desert that she hasn't told anyone. One by one the riders go missing, and the kills come without warning or buildup.

Craven later distanced himself from the film, citing budget constraints that forced compromises he wasn't happy with — including recycled flashback footage from the original.
